“Christmas is just far too short”
I do exclaim, I must report.
I yearn for more than just one day
For my solstice holiday!
Kwanzaa's better, for it’s longer
And in my heart that makes it stronger.
And I agree, it’s fun to say.
It ends, I fret, the seventh day.
But Hannukah is longer yet.
Which gives me joy -- and yet regret.
“The season quits,” I humbly state,
“Too early” on day number eight.
Ramadaan is longer still
With a whole month of nights to fill....
“Not time enough” I dare debate
“For all I have to celebrate!”
I grabbed some calendars, and some paste
I leaped to work. No time to waste.
Triumphant in my holiday quest,
I joined my favorite solstice fests.
I nearly burst with pride to tell ya
“I’ve birthed a brand-new Saturnalia!”
Though it’s a challenge to pronounce
My heart it leaps! I must announce:
“A MERRY CHRIS-RAMA-KWANZAA-ANNUKAH!”
(And a Happy New Year to yuh!)
